Announcing the Jerry Eaton and Richard Feustel Founders Scholarships!

 

WAEE is proud to continue the Jerry Eaton and Richard Feustel Founders Scholarships in recognition of the vision and sustained efforts those two professionals had to create the chapter we all benefit from today!

 

WAEE awarded $135,000 in scholarships since 2010!

WAEE established a scholarship program to support and sustain young Wisconsin talent needed to develop an energy efficient state and society. Since 2010, WAEE has awarded a total of 119 scholarships totaling $135,000. In 2024, individual awards will range from $1000 to $2,500 with a total of $20,000 budgeted for general awards in and Founders Scholarships.

The primary goal of the scholarship is to financially support students pursuing engineering, business and technical careers with emphasis on energy efficiency, energy management, energy conservation, renewable energy, energy generation, applied equipment design, energy system operation or other energy related field. Other goals include,

    • Providing students opportunities to meet other professionals working in energy careers and to see the wide variety of careers available to them
    • Providing WAEE members opportunities to meet students who may be seeking internship or employment in the future
DEADLINE: All scholarship applications are due by Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 10 pm CT. Applications submitted by September 8, 2024, will be given preferred status during review.

at the Brookfield Conference Center as we present this year's scholarships.


WHO:
  • Applicants must be attending undergraduate or technical school programs and must be continuing those studies for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Candidates should be attending Wisconsin programs or be a Wisconsin resident.
  • Student chapter members of WAEE or AEE are encouraged to apply, as participation and leadership in student chapters is strongly considered among the selection criteria.

Selection criteria include interest in energy careers, participation and leadership in AEE student chapter, academic performance, service organization involvement, leadership and outside interests. Applicants may be enrolled in programs with emphasis on energy efficiency, energy management, energy conservation, renewable energy or other energy related field.

DEADLINE:

    • All scholarship applications are due by Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 10 pm CT.
    • Applications submitted by September 8, 2024, will be given preferred status during review.
    • Recipient list will be presented at the WAEE Expo scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
    • Founders Scholarship Recipients will be expected to attend the expo to meet the Founders.
    • All recipients are strongly encouraged to attend to network with professionals in the energy field.
