ABOUT THE WAEE

The Wisconsin chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (WAEE) received our official charter from the global AEE on May 23, 2007.  The mission of the WAEE is to "promote the scientific & educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry", as broadly defined, and to foster cooperative action and promote activities that advance sustainable development. Our chapter has more than 45 corporate sponsors and over 300 paying members representing more than 125 major Wisconsin manufacturing, commercial, contractor, government, schools, utilities, and various private businesses. 

Our members include professionals from the energy industry, plus other industries and organizations, and the WAEE is unquestionably one of the strongest chapters in the nation. We have received many AEE awards since our inception, including:

• National Best Chapter Website - 2014
• Best Student Chapter Support (UW-Milwaukee) - 2023,2024
• National Best Chapter Meeting (Vyron) - 2024
• National Best Sustainability Program - 2025 (inaugural award!)

The WAEE hosts regular events to advance our members' professional knowledge, business and careers. We also organize an annual EXPO to provide members and our broader community with insights on energy industry trends and new technologies. The EXPO offers CEU/PDH credits for any attendees interested.

To encourage interest in our industry and help attract future leaders, the WAEE scholarship program financially supports students in 2 and 4 year programs pursuing engineering, business and technical careers in energy related fields. Since 2010, the WAEE has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships.
