We are proud to announce our April event will be held at University of Wisconsin-Platteville in Platteville, Wisconsin.
Founded in 1866 as the first teacher preparatory institution in the state of Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has a legacy of academic excellence that has helped thousands of students find their direct path to success. Today, UW-Platteville offers 40+ academic programs designed to help every student succeed professionally and personally. One of the newest programs in the college of Engineering, Math, and Science at UWP is Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems (SRES). This major offers students a unique opportunity to explore energy and sustainability on my levels.
Through the SRES program, the student chapter of WAEE is dedicated to the exploration of energy and sustainability. We challenge ourselves through competitions such as the statewide Smart Cities - Smart Futures and on the Solar Decathlon through the national level. We also try our hand at building sustainability related projects. This semester we tackled building a fluidized bed to help us get a better understanding of how biomass gasifiers work. With these experiences, we take our knowledge and passion for energy by volunteering with on campus events. Our members assist in teaching the energy merit badge at the yearly boy scout university. Our major teaching event is Engineering Expo, where we won the “Most Real World Applicable” award in 2019 for our exhibit.”
Join us, April 22th, for a presentation and Earth Day Event at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville main campus in Platteville, WI. Learn about our program Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems and the cool things the WAEE student chapter does.
