    Mercury Marine
    Globally Sustainable Success

2.14.20: Registration is closed, as we are at capacity.

We are proud to announce our February event will be held at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac Wisconsin.

Mercury is a globally recognized leader in the manufacturing of high performance marine and mobility vehicles. How does that happen? How does a company grow from a single outboard engine in 1939 to an international sensation? In their own words “…We love the outdoors, We love engineering. And we love to go fast". You can make the case that their "love”, transcends just boats and motors. It is a part of a culture that drives learning, innovation, and agility.

Mercury has long understood the relationship between the products they produce, the lifestyle they promote, and the environment that is entrusted to us all. Early adopters of sustainable technologies and practices, Mercury Marine continues to work on becoming recognized one of the most environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing organizations here and abroad.

Join us, February 26th,  for a presentation and a tour  at the Mercury Marine Global Headquarters and Manufacturing Facilities. Learn how Mercury has leveraged technology, culture, environmental and social responsibility, into success.

Brief overview of the Evinrude Outboard Engine Brand

Evinrude is an iconic American brand of recreational marine outboard engines, and a member of the BRP Marine Group which includes US‐based Alumacraft aluminum boats and Manitou Pontoon boats. Founded in Wisconsin, Evinrude has been producing outboard engines to support American recreational boating and fishing activities for over 100 years. The entire Evinrude brand, including manufacturing, sales, marketing, dealer training and support, engineering, and advanced research and innovation, is based in Sturtevant, Wisconsin and includes over 650 highly skilled employees.

    Highlights of the Evinrude Facility

 Manufacturing facility for Evinrude marine outboard engines ranging from 15 horsepower to 300 horsepower including the flagship Evinrude E‐TEC G2 line of outboards.

 All outboard engines manufactured in Sturtevant utilize E‐TEC direct fuel injection two‐stroke ultra‐low emissions technology.

 Evinrude E‐TEC technology was awarded the prestigious U.S. EPA Clean Air Excellence Award.

 Marine combustion engine technology pioneered at Evinrude sets the industry benchmark for fuel efficiency.

 Advanced engineering research and development is performed within the Sturtevant facility, supporting nearly 100 highly‐skilled engineering staff.

 R&D was relocated from Waukegan, IL to Sturtevant, WI in 2013. A $15 million investment was made to upgrade the Sturtevant facility to support the engineering functions.

 In 2017, a global product training center was opened in the Sturtevant Facility bringing hundreds of technicians annually from across the U.S. and globally to Sturtevant for week‐long product training sessions.

 Evinrude led advanced biofuels research, working alongside the Department of Energy, Argonne National Laboratory and with collaboration across the industry to bring the next generation biofuel, biobutanol to market.

 Evinrude recently donated $2 million dollars in engines to the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) to train the next generation of technicians and has partnered with Gateway Technical School to support work force development.
