Attendees will learn about CUNA Mutual's new 160,000-square-foot, five-story facility which features a new dining area, auditorium, customer exchange center, an enclosed collaboration space and a year-round rooftop terrace.

The Lighthouse is pursuing LEED Gold and Parksmart Bronze certifications. One of its key sustainable design features is water reduction. The building uses nearly 38% less water than similar buildings of its size due to low-flow fixtures, a savings of about 100,000 gallons of water per year. It also features a 10,000-gallon cistern that collects and stores rainwater and condensates from air handling units. The cistern’s water is used for flushing toilets and outdoor irrigation.

Other green features include a nearly 50% reduction in energy use compared to baseline buildings thanks to triple-glazed glass and efficient lighting and HVAC systems. This project also reverted about 35% of its previously developed site to native vegetation.
