If you like big, you'll love our next meeting.  We look forward to seeing you at Rexnord Falk on Wednesday October 30th.  Rexnord Falk is a big player in the gear and coupling market, and they have a big facility with big time production capabilities and really big energy demands.  Rexnord has a very active Energy Team at the Falk plant, consisting of operations and facilities management, Corporate Energy Management, reps from We Energies and Focus on Energy, and reps from key energy-related contractors.

Their presentation will give an overview of what they produce and what challenges they face, and then go into the success stories of their Energy Team and the current projects underway.  One particular challenge is their electric arc furnace.  As one of the largest foundry arc furnaces in the country, it can melt 70 tons of steel at a time, and peaks at about 25,000 kw of draw.  Their foundry annealers are also some of the largest in the country, and together they consume over $1M of natural gas each year.
