MONDAY April 2 WAEE Luncheon - WI Office of Energy Innovation + Dane County Landfill + 2018 Scholarships

April Event- MONDAY, April 2

We kicked off spring with our monthly WAEE meeting on April 2 at the Wisconsin Agriculture Office in Madison.   Presentation by guest speaker Maria Redmond, Director of the Office of Energy Innovation.  She discussed the transportation sector and the associated energy reduction opportunities that exist, focusing on the different fuels that can run our semi-trucks.

In addition, WAEE presented $11,500 in scholarship money to (9) deserving college students.  WAEE scholarship program over the last 9 years has given away over $60,000 to 62 recipient.

We then went on a tour at the Dane County Landfill to see how they used their own landfill gas to generate 4-5 MW of electrical power.
