UW-Madison: Nuclear engineering reactor tour

The Wisconsin Association of Energy Engineers (WAEE) invites you to join us at UW-Madison to learn and tour their nuclear reactor!

** Registration will be open until Aug 13th due to security protocols at the UW-Madison; walk-ins will not be allowed on the tour. 

The Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics (NEEP) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison integrates fundamental physics, mathematics, and engineering principles to solve critical societal problems while educating the next generation of leaders in nuclear science and technology. We deploy our unique, world-class experimental and computational capabilities to translate novel discoveries into transformative technologies.

Attendees will learn about the clean energy potential of fission and fusion technologies, energy policy, and the core research initiatives within the NEEP Department. Attendees will also tour the UW Nuclear Reactor, a 1 MW TRIGA research reactor that supports a wide range of educational endeavors.

** NOTE: Lunch and presentations will take place in the Mechanical Engineering building. We will walk a short distance to the UW Nuclear Reactor and research for the tour.
